The Village Chapel

The Village Chapel property on 55 Community Road is called the “Care Cottage.” It houses the offices for our Director of Christian Education and the Director of Health Ministries. A Mother’s Morning Out and a Respite Care program (Prime Time Club) operate at the Care Cottage. The beginning of a Christian Library is in place. On the main level, there is over 2000 square feet of space that is suitable for gatherings and meetings of all kinds. In additional to regular Chapel committees, we have a group of folks meeting weekly for the Truth Project, a teen group get-together on Friday evenings and several community groups using the facility.

The Care Cottage is an attractive, comfortable, safe place that is handicap accessible, serviced with a small but complete kitchen, and handicap restrooms. In addition to growing the core activities already started, the staff and volunteers working on the Care Cottage project, envision using this facility for Christian Counseling, tutoring programs, Shepherd Flock gatherings, educational classes, and just a place to meet with a few friends for quiet fellowship and a cup of coffee. All Christ centered activities are welcomed at the Care Cottage.

The Care Cottage oversight Committee reviews requests for use of the facility and makes recommendations in keeping with the established policies. Dot Macdonald, Chapel Administrator and member of the CCOC, schedules and coordinates the activities and events at the Care Cottage. Applications of use of the facility and copy policies may be obtained at the Chapel main office.

We pray that one day the Care Cottage will have a full slate of Christ centered activities each day of the week, serving the Village Chapel congregation and the community at large. We are now just beginning.
